Bluebird
This illustration is one that I completed after a long period of creative burnout. I find myself always turning to nature when I am feeling uninspired and is a theme that features heavily in my work.
For this illustration, I played around a lot with the sketch of the reference image and found myself leaning towards a style that did not include my usual detailed, black linework. Instead, I utilised the colours and textures of the bird to develop contrast with the more simple background, making the bird stand out effectively.
